Taiwan donates more motorcycles to Dominican Police

SANTO DOMINGO. – The government of Taiwan today donated 100 motorcycles to the National Police for use by the Metropolitan Transit Authority (AMET), to prevent accidents and expedite traffic nationwide.

Taiwan Ambassador Isaac Tsai said the donation forms part of his government’s international attendance program, aimed at bolstering the relations of friendship and cooperation with the Dominicans.

He said the 100 motorcycles donated are worth US$132,825.

Taipei had also donated around 15 Harley-Davidson motorcycles to the Santo Domingo Municipal Police in 2,000, but the lack of maintenance quickly turned them into junkers.
