Government denies rumors of massive repatriations of Haitians

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican government, through theForeign Affairs Ministry, denied Friday the rumors about ordering massiverepatriation of undocumented Haitians as an alleged retaliation against the banimposed by Haiti to Dominican poultry products.

In a note received from the Dominican Embassy inHaiti, the Ministry points out: "Dominican authorities are not in the moodof taking any retaliation against citizens or against the Haitian government,because this is not a diplomatic and media war, but a dispute that we believeshould be resolved through dialogue, in a spirit of harmony and goodneighborliness."
