Santo Domingo.- 35 members of the Airport Security Corps (CESA), the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD), and National Investigations Dept., were arrested in the last few days for their alleged links to a shipment of 670 kilos of cocaine at the Punta Cana International Airport

DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron said the details will be disclosed to the country shortly and affirmed that "everyone involved in this international drug trafficking case will receive the drastic punishment it merits."

At least 30 people are reportedly under arrest in the case being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office, Armed Forces, CESA and the DNCD, the official said, noting that the case is of such magnitude that further details can’t be provided, because any misinformation could hinder the investigation.

The DNCD spokesman made the announcement by phone to radio station Z-101FM.
