Fernandez says Major Leaguers make us proud

Santo Domingo.- President Leonel Fernandez hosted a dinner in the National Palace for Dominican Major League Baseball players, which ex professionals also attended.

The Head of State said the players were a source of pride and honor for the Dominican nation.

Present in the activity were Robinson Cano, Ramon Santiago, Ubaldo Jiménez, Octavio Dotel, Ervin Santana and Carlos Santana.

Also Osvaldo Virgil the first Dominican in the Major Leagues; Edwin Encarnación Guillermo Mota, Manuel (Manny) Mota, George Bell, Pedro Martinez, Tony Peña, Stanley Javier and Alfredo Griffin.

Fernandez was accompanied by Sports minister Felipe (Jay) Payano.
