Advice for Easter Week vacationers

Santo Domingo.- As part of an education campaign dubbed “OnVacation! National tourists have the right to a first-rate service” consumerprotection agency (Pro Consumidor) head Altagracia Paulino is advising EasterWeek vacationers to wash canned products before opening them and to avoidexposing bottled water or food in bags to sunlight, due to the short andmedium-term health risks.

The consumer rights protectionagency also issued a reminder that during this time of year especiallyconsumers should check expiry dates on products and never purchase productswith damaged packaging.

The “On Vacation!” campaign includes handing outpromotional materials in beach and vacation spots and on the country’shighways.
