No more privileges for convicted bankers at new prison

Santo Domingo.- The convicted former bankers who were transferred to La Romana prison no longer enjoy the privileges they had at Najayo penitentiary, where they have had to comply with the new correctional systems, including the wearing of jail garb and eat the same chow given to the other inmates.

Former bankers Andres Aybar, Pedro Castillo and Edwin Baquero had their hair cut and are confined to a five square-meter cell with a bed on concrete with a mattress and a bathroom.

Model Prisons Management coordinator Ysmael Paniagua said the ex bankers are in an area with 13 other inmates, and share one TV.
