Las Americas highway tunnel to be closed Thursday PM

Santo Domingo.- The Public Works Ministry and the electric utility EdeEste will shutter the Las Americas highway tunnel from 10pm Thursday to 6am Friday, to work on the lighting system.

The tunnel’s East-West lanes will be closed, for which those heading downtown should take alternate routes.

Workers will conduct routine system maintenance, replace bulbs and wiring, many of which had been stolen by people which sell it for copper.
