Dominican leader congratulates Venezuela’s Maduro

Santo Domingo. – President Danilo Medina on Monday congratulated Venezuela counterpart Nicolas Maduro’s win in that country’s presidential elections held Sunday.

The Dominican leader said in addition to his personal congratulations, the Dominican people also hail his victory.

"This is an appropriate occasion to express our best wishes that your term is accompanied by great success in developing your government’s programs and conduct your people on the paths of continued prosperity for the wellbeing of our Venezuelan brothers and strengthened democracy," the letter aid.

Medina adds that he expects to strengthen the traditional and historical ties between Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
