JCE to include digital signature in identity card

Santo Domingo.– Armando Garcia, the head of the Presidential Information and Communication Technology Office (Optic), considered as a great achievement the fact that the Central Electoral Board (JCE) has decided to include a digital signature in the identity card.

According to Garcia, this way citizens can electronically validate and authenticate all their activities in public and private institutions with the same legal validity as the real document.

JCE president Roberto Rosario decided to incorporate these features to the new card after a meeting wih Garcia on 12 March.
