Another arrest in Central Electoral Board fake IDs scandal

Santo Domingo.- The National District Office of the Prosecutor arrested Sandra Mendez Delgado, wife of the alleged ringleader of the civil registrar network forgery, Felipe Omar Achécar.

She was charged with conspiracy in connection with the ring headed by her husband and a group of ex employees of the Central Electoral Board.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor, Sandra Mendez obtained and used a false identity.

The ring is accused of providing forged documents to people linked to drug trafficking, including associates of Ernesto Bienvenido Guevara Díaz (Maconi), extradited to the U.S. last year.
