Agents nab Haitian wanted in the U.S. on drug charges

Santo Domingo.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) Wednesday night captured a Haitian drug fugitive wanted in the United States, where he’ll be flown to in the next few hours.

Rodolphe Jaar, who was living in a luxury suite in a hotel on the Capital’s Malecon, was arrested on a warrant issued by a U.S. court, on charges of conspiracy to smuggle cocaine.

"He’s a person with legal problems in the United States and Dominican Republic for drug trafficking," said DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron, adding that the detainee is being held in the DNCD compound until he’s taken out of the country.
