Opposition party leader says new way is needed

Santo Domingo.- Opposition PRD party deputy Hugo Tolentino Dipp on Wednesday proposed the creation of a new political entity to solve that its crisis, spurred by former president Hipolito Mejia and the head of the organization, Miguel Vargas.

Tolentino who’s also one of the dozens of PRD vice presidents, said Vargas is not only looking out for himself, but also forms part of the current government scheme "based on an exacerbated cronyism."

He said those negotiating with Vargas should know that where they’re headed might find, if they wish, the same benefits obtained by most of the heads of the ruling PLD, and some of the PRD.

He said that those who choose to follow the PRD’s democratic steps since 1939 however, should create another authentic PRD instead."
