Yet another showbiz figure sent to jail

Santo Domingo.- TV bombshell Venya Carolina on Tuesday became the latest showbiz figure to go to jail, joining the likes of urban music stars Vakero, Omega, and Latin American Idol winner Martha Heredia, and cable TV mogul Frank Jorge Elias.

Venya Carolina’s incarceration came after the National District Office of the Prosecutor failed to reconcile her with her colleagues Sharmin Diaz and Yelitza Lora , slapping the latter in the presence of Assistant DA Carlos Vidal instead.

Diaz and Lora charged Venya Carolina with making death threats and requested a restraining order against her at the Ciudad Nueva courthouse, where they declined comment to the press.

According to court papers quoted by listin.com.do, Venya Carolina accused Diaz and Lora, on live TV, of using witchcraft and black magic to harm her.
