American teacher dies in Santiago traffic accident

Santiago.- American teacher Megan Elisabeth Garven, 30, was killed and four people were hurt in a Tuesday night traffic accident on the Duarte highway across from Santiago’s Hospital Metropolitana.

The teacher at the Santiago Christian School bilingual school died when the SUV in which she was traveling collided with another similar vehicle, wounding Gabriela Suriel, U.S. citizen Audrey Hickman, Farra Marrero and the driver of the other vehicle, whose name wasn’t immediately provided.

The accident reportedly occurred just after 10pm when a Nissan SUV coming out of the sector Los Alamos, toward the highway’s onramp was hit by another SUV.

The injured were taken to the hospital as well as the body of the teacher.
