Drugs seized, arrests made aboard the Ferry, freighter

SANTO DOMINGO. – The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) Sunday night seized 28 packages of cocaine aboard a ship moored at the Caucedo Multimodal Port and arrested two Philippine crewmembers, charged with bringing the drug from Colombia to take it to Holland.

Also arrested were three men at Santo Domingo Port headed to Puerto Rico with 12 cans full of cocaine, disguised as pigeon peas in coconut milk, prior to boarding the Ferry.

In a statement, the DNCD identified the Filipinos were as Felimón Querubín Barilla and Bombino Wacan Fernandez, both arrested on board the freighter Bahia Laura. Also seized were 12,000 Euros the two men said they were paid to take the drug to Holland.
