Agents arrest fugitive wanted in NY on drug charges

Santo Domingo.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) on Monday announced the arrest of a Dominican wanted in extradition to face drug charges in the United States.

It said Bienvenido Gonzalez Pujols, 46 ,was detained in the southwestern community of Hatillo, Azua, on a Supreme Court warrant.

"Gonzalez Pujols will be held in custody in the capital until the Justice Ministry’s International Affairs Dept. requests them for the relevant extradition procedure," says the DNCD in a statement.

According to New York South District Court documents, Gonzalez is charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute one or more kilos of cocaine.
