Most DT readers favor strict gun control

Santo Domingo.- The latest spate of murders where firearms were used has once again drawn attention to the number of guns, illegal or otherwise, in the hands of civilians, and even off duty members of the military.

When DT asked “Should the bearing of guns be restricted,?” 138 readers (45.1%) voted “Yes, only the Police should carry them,” followed in second place with 84 votes (27.4%) whose response was “Yes, but start with the thugs first.”

In third place was the response “No, not ever,” with 49 Votes (15.9%), while “Partially, depends on need” was the option from 35 voters (11.4%) of the group of 307 who participated in the unscientific survey.
