Former president hosts farewell for U.S. ambassador Yzaguirre

Santo Domingo. – Former president Leonel Fernandez yesterday hosted a farewell luncheon for U.S. ambassador Raul Yzaguirre, who returns home after resigning the post reportedly on health reasons.

The U.S. diplomat visited the former president at the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (FUNGLODE), a think tank founded and headed by Fernandez.

Yzaguirre, accompanied by U.S. Embassy chief of staff Daniel Foote, thanked Fernandez for the way his administration treated him, as well as for the efforts with U.S. president Barack Obama to increasingly expand bilateral relations
