Customs to test six tanks seized from Barrick Gold

Santo Domingo.- The Customs Agency on Wednesday announced the confiscation of six tanks of a material which Barrick Gold Corp. had declared as limestone, though customs technicians suspect it’s camouflaged gold.

An elnuevodiario.com.do source said Customs inspectors seized the material at Las Americas International Airport, and took part of it for testing in Miami to determine the material’s true content.

They said the tests results should arrive in the country Thursday.

The cargo of six tanks to be shipped to Canada via Miami is under guard at Warehouse 10 of the freight terminal.
