Showers taper off, high temps remain

Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorology Office (ONAMET) forecasts fewer downpours, except for popup showers over the Southwest, Northeast, Southeast and border area Thursday afternoon.

It said the seasonably high temperatures will continue, as well as the flash flood, swelled rivers and landslide alerts for low-lying areas of Monte Plata, San Pedro and Santo Domingo provinces.

Onamet said a trough over the southwest could set off scattered showers over the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, Central Mountains and border region.
