Brief 4.3 tremor wakes up Dominicans

Early this Monday morning an earthquake of about 4.3 magnitudes was recorded that shook the Baní municipality, Peravia province, which was felt in some sectors of Santo Domingo. The event that happened at 5:04 in the morning had an epicenter at 23.9 kilometers north of the mentioned province with a depth of 30.1 kilometers.

Due to its magnitude, this telluric movement does not represent a major danger, since the earth regularly releases energy through this type of manifestation, as explained by the National Seismology Center of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo.

It must be remembered that our country is a territory of high seismic activity, so it is recommended to follow the indications of the experts in case these events occur.
