The arrests of these former officials were carried out for interrogation in corruption cases.

Earlier, agents of the prosecutor’s office carried out a series of raids on their residences.

Gonzalo Castillo was a candidate for the presidency of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) in the last elections in 2020.

On the other hand, Donald Guerrero has been investigated by Pepca for several months due to alleged irregularities in the payment of expropriations during his term at the Ministry of Finance.

Castillo, Peralta, and Guerrero were officials in the government of former President Danilo Medina.
