Punta Cana Airport will receive 1.5 million more passengers with expansion of the TB

According to CEO Frank Elias Rainieri, Grupo Puntacana is currently carrying out multiple infrastructure projects in their ventures to both enhance customer experience and expand their business in response to increasing demand. He stated that “as a Group, we are at a critical moment in our business, diversifying and expanding our strategies with the firm goal of creating more opportunities for everyone.” He further declared that “We are investing $90 million in the airport with the B2 terminal, and we are investing $200 million in the Logistics Center. It goes without saying that we believe in the DR; we are Dominicans who invest in our country.”

One of the specific projects being emphasized is the new B2 terminal of the Punta Cana International Airport, which is set to be opened in May. It aims to meet the rising demand caused by the construction of 15,000 new rooms in the East zone over the next few years. By adding 25,000 square meters to Terminal B with an investment of more than $90 million (about 5 billion pesos), the airport will be able to receive an additional 1.5 million passengers.

Another project is the construction of the first phase of the Punta Cana Free Trade Zone, which will cost over 10,000 million pesos and will position the Dominican Republic as a logistics hub between Europe and America, as well as between the southern and northern regions of the continent. This free zone will encompass over 546,000 square meters of land and will simultaneously serve as an air, sea, and land logistics center. This project is expected to create over 8,000 jobs.
