Yenny Polanco Lovera swears in the new members of Adompretur Santo Domingo.
Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Association of Tourism Press (Adompretur) swore in the new members of this institution whose mission is to unite and represent tourism communication professionals in the promotion of responsible tourism. Among the new members is Anita González Sigler, staff writer, since 2008, of iconic Bohío magazine and BohioNews.com.
The ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Dominican College of Journalists, also saw the swearing in of journalists and communicators Denisse Valverde and Andreina Germán (arecoa.com); Arelis Carolina Lorenzo Ruiz (elcambioinformativo.com.do; Álbida Segura, (Párate Ahí, a digital news outlet and radio program); and Elizabet Gutiérrez (paseandoyviviendo.com).
Also, Moisés González (despiertanacional.com); Leonardo Mercedes (Antena Latina and Youtube channel Oookey Aventuras); Melvinson Almánzar (editor of visitantes.do); Daniela Báez Bautista (tourism correspondent for En Directo TV program Recorrido turístico con Daniela); Joel Anico (Youtube channel viajerillos.com); and Elmer Féliz (El Nuevo Diario).
Yenny Polanco Lovera, president of Adompretur, told the press that after several years without holding swearing-in ceremonies –due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the process of updating and purging of the roll– it is an honor for the institution to add “this group of communication professionals who keep the population informed with the news generated by this dynamic sector of our economy.”
The election process of the new members, she stated, was exhaustive, “because the board of directors verifies that all new applicants meet the requirements established by the institution.” She also announced that in the coming months the general secretaries will evaluate the professionals interested in joining the different branches across the country.
Polanco Lovera thanked the support of Adompretur vice president Salvador Batista, who accompanied her at the event, as well as the board of directors, professionals who are committed to the success of all the initiatives of the 45-year-old institution.
“Adompretur continues to work in favor of its membership, so that in their professional practice they are updated and sensitized in the promotion of responsible tourism,” said the president.
