Flash flood alerts for several regions as showers continue

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) continues flash flood alerts for Greater Santo Domingo, Monte Plata, Duarte, San Pedro and San Cristobal provinces, where rising rivers could also cause mudslides.

The COE said 75 people had to be evacuated while flooding has damaged several homes in those areas.

Meanwhile the National Weather Office forecasts continuing scattered showers for all regions, from a trough still affecting the country
