Abinader says the Dominican Republic is one of the Latin American countries with the best social security coverage

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader proudly emphasized the significant impact of social policies implemented during his administration, positioning the country as a leader in social security and healthcare coverage in Latin America and the Caribbean. Under his leadership, remarkable achievements have been made, including expanded assistance through programs like Economic Kitchens and Inespre, substantial increases in pensions for mothers, and the introduction of a housing bond. These policies have contributed to improving the lives of countless individuals and families.

The Supérate program has been a notable success, witnessing a doubling of transfers and beneficiaries. Additionally, the government introduced various bonuses and support systems for families, including the “Family Support” bonus, the “Christmas Bonus” card, and an “emergency bonus” for households affected by Hurricane Fiona. These initiatives have provided much-needed relief and assistance to those facing challenging circumstances.

Transparency in public fund management has been a key priority for Abinader’s administration. Despite economic challenges, the government has continued to invest in critical infrastructure projects, such as aqueducts, roads, and schools, ensuring long-term development and improved access to essential services for the population.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, the government announced the “Mothers Bonus 2023,” a substantial contribution of RD$1,500 to one million vulnerable Dominican women. To be eligible, recipients must be residents with limited income, as determined by poverty thresholds. The bonus will be delivered through various channels, including Banreservas accounts, the MIO app, and the Supérate program’s Alimentate card and Remittances.

President Abinader reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to supporting citizens and enhancing their quality of life. These policies and initiatives are a testament to their dedication to social justice and improving the well-being of the people. Through transparency, effective management of resources, and targeted programs, the government aims to uplift communities, strengthen the economy, and foster a brighter future for all Dominicans.
