Landfill operations partially resume

Santo Domingo. The landfill at Duchess has resumed its operations partially after being paralyzed yesterday due to an impasse between the Santo Domingo North City Council and the landfill contractor Lajun Corporation.

Until noon today 47 trucks of various municipalities were waiting for dumping their waste in it. The figure is 30 trucks less than yesterday, a sign that things are improving, said the acting administrator of the dump and representative of the City of Santo Domingo Norte, Rijo Melendez.
