Fire destroys entertainment business in Las Terrenas

Las Terrenas.- Authorities in the town of Las Terrenas have reported a devastating fire that completely destroyed a center for the sale of alcoholic beverages. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, resulting in the loss of the establishment known as “El Almendro,” situated on Duarte Street in Las Terrenas, Samaná.

According to a police report provided by the Northeast Regional Subdirectorate of Criminal Intelligence (Lintel), firefighters received notification of the fire at approximately 1:10 am on Sunday. Multiple firefighting units promptly responded to the scene, and by 2:40 am, they were able to successfully extinguish the flames. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported as a result of the incident.

As per information shared with relief agencies, the owner of the business, known as “Kiko,” believes that a short circuit in one of the air conditioners within the premises caused the accident.
