Medina takes a Father’s Day break

Santo Domingo.- It took Father’s Day in Dominican Republic to keep president Danilo Medina at home with his family on Sunday, skipping his popular surprise visits to faraway villages for the first time since he took office nearly one year ago..

In a tweet about the date, the president called on Dominicans to spend this special day with loved ones. "Dominicans, let’s enjoy this day with family, thankful of the fathers who gave us life and the children we’ve had."

"Being a father is a responsibility that requires firmness and commitment, but also gives us the greatest blessing: the children," tweeted Medina.
