Musicians play for their trees, reject parking lot

Santo Domingo.- A group of musicians staged an outdoor concert on the grounds of the National Conservatory of Music on Sunday, to protest the National District City Council’s planned parking lots at its green areas.

Called "Alborada," musicians, students, teachers and authorities joined to host a concert under the trees in a garden full of bamboo, with their instruments as their "weapons," under the command of Dante Cucurullo.

They reject the plan announced by mayor Roberto Salcedo to use the space as a parking area, and asked the families to support them, by attending the two concerts they’ll offer each month.
