Rain to continue over next 48 hours

Santo Domingo.- The country remains under the influence ofa wet weather system, and thunderstorms and windgusts will continue to affect arange of locations over the next two days, according to the Meteorological Office,ONAMET.

The current downpours are likely to cause flooding inurban areas with poor drainage.

The system is located over the east of the country and ismoving westward, say forecasters, leading to rain in the east, northeast,southeast, coastal plains, center of the country and some parts of the northernregion. Downpours have been affected the province of La Altagracia and theareas of Macao and Miches in the east of the country.

Maximum temperatures are close to 33 or 34 degrees Celsiusand minimum temperatures are in the region of 24 or 25 degrees Celsius.
