Santo Domingo’s subway reports its first birth

Santo Domingo.- A woman gave birth Monday night in Santo Domingo Metro’s second subway line, where a security agent assigned to the station helped in the delivery.

After giving birth to a baby girl, an ambulance took Yahaira de Jesus Bonilla Basora to the Marcelino Velez hospital, where she and her newborn are reportedly in good condition.

The 24-year-old mom gave birth –the first ever in Santo Domingo’s subway- at the Maria Montez stop at 10:30pm, when service was about to close.
