Deep chill in the U.S. cancels local flights

Santo Domingo.- The contractor which manages DominicanRepublic’s airports (Aerodom) on Tuesday said 10 New York and Boston flights werecanceled at Las Americas international Airport (AILA), in addition to UnitedAirlines’s 1470 and 173 to Newark, New Jersey.

It said JetBlue had already cancelled flights 109,609, 209 and 509 from New York and 710 and 310 towards that city; as well as flights829 and 830 to Boston.

Aerodom reported other operations on schedule sofar, although with delays and urges travelers to contact the airlines locally, tocheck flights status.

Local media report alarge number of passengers at AILA looking for alternate flights, which Aerodomsays can be seen in real time at www.aerodom.com or through phone numbers (809)947-2225 and (809) 947-2297.

A winterchill in southern and eastern U.S. has forced many airlines to cancel flights.
