Santo Domingo.- National police chief Manuel Castro warned Tuesday he’ll not accept insubordination from any of his agents, referring to media reports that 73 officers at the Dajabón (northwest) precinct refused transfer orders to the nearby city of Mao. "Insubordination is unacceptable and disciplinary measures will be applied according to the law."
He warned that no police agent can refuse to carry out an order from headquarters.
He revealed that the transfers being carried out collectively in various police precincts along the border region form part of the Government’s push to improve security and vigilance over the line which separates the country from Haiti.
Castro also noted a similar insubordination of 39 agents in San Francisco (northeast) in July 2012, all of whom were fired by police headquarters.
