Woman arrested on bomb threat to US Consulate

Santo Domingo.- Police investigators arrested Maria Yokasta Vélez de Alli (Marioli), 36, charged with making several calls threatening the United States Consulate with a bomb, on December 1.

She was detained on a warrant issued after it was learned through electronic analyses that she’s the person who called the consulate, to warn on an alleged bomb.

Velez, who resides near the Municipality of Nagua, was escorted to the National District Office of the Prosecutor, together with her husband Juan Carlos Reyes Disla, who was questioned and released.

The Police said the investigation and electronic surveillance determined that the threatening calls were made from the number 809-677-4144, in the name of Reyes Disla, by his wife.
