Changes aim to clean up Dominican Republic’s Foreign Service

Santo Domingo.- Foreign Affairs minister Andrés Navarro on Monday ordered changes in various departments, as part of the cleanup demanded by Dominican society, especially the numerous “botellas” (bottles), or people who’re paid despite not working.

Navarro said Freddy Radhamés Rodríguez will head the administrative dept., while Nelson Ramón Ortega will be in charge of finances.

He also announced the creation of the Ethics and Institutional Transparency Unit, headed by Julio César Santana, and said the changes for part of the plans to relaunch the beleaguered Ministry.
