NY Democrats will get Dominicans’nod: Poll

New York.- Of the 718 Dominicans interviewed by elnuevodiario.com.do October 3 to 5 in area neighborhoods along major avenues and busy Manhattan streets, 604 (84.1%) say they’ll vote for Democratic Party candidates over Republicans.

Of those polled in Washington Heights and other Upper Manhattan sectors, 86 (12%) would vote Republican while 28 (3.9%), wouldn’t do so for any of the two traditional parties.

Among the Democrats competing in the November 4 polls in New York figure incumbent governor Andrew Cuomo; Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, all three seeking re-election.

The Dominicans polled along Broadway St. Nicholas, Sherman and Dyckman avenues, and 181st, 204th and 207th streets also said they’ll vote for Dominican State Senator Adriano Espaillat in the 31st District, and for District 72 Assemblyman Guillermo Linares, both seeking reelection.
