Scattered showers, often heavy, thunderstorms

SANTO DOMINGO. – The National Meteorology Office (ONAMET) forecasts continuing sometimes heavy scattered showers accompanied by thunderstorms for Tuesday, from the effects of a low pressure system located over the country.

It said the showers will be more frequent in the northeast, southeast, southwest and the Central Mountains.

It said a frontal system over western Cuba will move quickly east, expected to arrive in the country Thursday or Friday, when small craft are cautioned to remain in port along the Atlantic coast, and to stay near shore in Samaná Bay and the Caribbean Sea.
