New Jersey police nab 2 locals with 1,500 bags of heroin

New York.- Two Dominicans identified as Pablo Balderas, 28, and Francisco Medina, 53, were arrested on Route 4 at Palisades, New Jersey, with 1,500 bags of heroin.

Police Anti-Heroin Unit Capt. James Mullin said a NJ State Highway Patrol stopped who was Balderas driving a Nissan SUV for a traffic violation and an ensuing search uncovered the drug and money.

He also said Medina confessed to investigators that he was residing in the United States illegally. The official said the money was in the vehicle’s glove box, for which the two men were charged with drug trafficking and money laundering.

Balderas was also charged with a traffic violation and both are being held in the county jail where bail was set at US$50,000 each. Neither the drug’s weight nor its street value were provided.
