Approaching weather system prompts possible alerts

Santo Domingo.- The Weather Meteorology Office (Onamet) on Friday announced possible alerts issued for some provinces in the next few hours, from the downpours expected to starting late today or early Saturday.

It said the rains and thunderstorms will continue over the northeastern and southeastern provinces, from a major weather system approaching the territory.

Onamet forecasts downpours will spread during the afternoon and evening, more frequent over the country’s central and east regions, but weakening Saturday and Sunday.
