Titles registrar warned over deeds on senator’s embezzlement case

Santo Domingo.- Justice minister Francisco Dominguez on Sunday warned the Titles registrars of Greater Santo Domingo and Santiago to refrain from complying with Special Supreme Court judge Frank Soto’s ruling in the embezzlement case against senator Felix Bautista.

Soto’s ruling orders the Titles registrars to strike the liens and /or challenges to the sale and transfer of 112 real estate properties owned by the realtor Rofi, SRL, in which Bautista is the majority shareholder.

But Dominguez cautions the registrars to refrain from executing the ruling, noting that the lines notified on February 14 2014 suspend enforcement of Soto’s decision until a court in the jurisdiction hears the case.

Dominguez adds the registrars who strike the liens on the Rofi titles face charges punishable under Articles the Civil Code, "especially on the transfer of real properties with liens of warning."
