Police posted at failed bank to avert incidents

Santo Domingo.- Dozens of police agents have been posted at the main offices of the Banco Peravia bank, to avert incidents in the heels of Banks Superintendence announcement on Saturday that the bank is under a process to be dissolved.

Dozens of people showed up at branch located on Churchill Av. Monday morning to validate their savings and CDs.

The Banks Superintendence said the Monetary Board will dissolve Peravia, and asked depositors to go to its offices to validate deposits and other bank products.

However Peravia executives said it’s Tuesday when depositors can start withdraw their money, which prompted the disgruntled bank customers abandoned the area.
