Santo Domingo.- Justice minister Francisco Dominguez on Sunday said he’s "firm and resolute" to secure the confiscation of all assets of embattled senator Felix Bautista’s group of businesses, which are under liens.
That’s the reason the prosecution filed the entire case file in possession of the Anti-corruption Dept. at the Supreme Court, as alleged evidence that all of Bautista’s properties are the result of embezzlement against the State.
"We don’t know the inner details of the Supreme Court, but our position is firm: there’s a hearing on December 3 and we’re requesting the confiscation of all assets goods; it must be returned to the state because that’s were it came from," Dominguez said.
Dominguez’s statement came in response to reports that presiding judge Fran Soto has gone on vacation without setting a date to hear the request to freeze Bautista’s assets.
The next hearing will be headed by Special Instruction judge Alejandro Moscoso at 9am December 3, in which the prosecution will seek pretrial detention.
