SANTO DOMINGO. – The Atlantic Hurricane Season ends today, one of the least active, with 19, disturbances, 18 of which named storms, whose winds surpassed 65 kilometers per hour.
Of the named storms only six reached hurricane strength, three of those intense, surpassing category 3 winds, the National Meteorology Office announced today.
It forecasts partly cloudy skies for most of the country today It said that from noon and widely scattered showers and short time towards the Central Mountains, the Caribbean Coastal Plain and the northeast and east regions.
Meteorology said the scattered showers and mild temperatures will continue into Thursday, while the arrival of nearly stationary frontal system over Central Cuba is expected to bring rains to the north region on Friday.
