Dominican police arrest 2 in murder of Washington DC lawyer

Santo Domingo.- The National Police on Tuesady said it apprehended two men in connection with the murder of US citizen Van Teasley, whose body was found in his residence in the upscale sector of Gazcue on November 2.

Police spokesman Jacobo Mateo identified the suspects as Luigy Miguel González Gómez (Coca Negra), 20, and Jhon Michael Cabrera, 19.

He said González had a close relationship with Teasley during around one year and introduced him to Cabrera as his cousin.

Mateo said the two planned Teasley’s death and bound him with two tie-wraps bought in a business nearby. “The American was killed to steal 1,500 dollars, clothes, shoes and cell phones.”

He said Gonzalez had confessed to using a pillow to suffocate Teasley.

U.S. media report that Teasley was a prominent attorney hailing from the Washington DC area.
