Pioneering mogul Poppy Bermudez passes away

SD.- Industrial mogul and TV pioneer Jose Armando (Poppy) Bermudez, the top business leader in Santiago for decades, died in his native city after battling ailments for some time, which kept him within the confines to his home.

Bermúdez was the owner of the country’s first color TV station, Colorvision, as well as Cibaovision in Santiago.

He was the patriarch of a family that founded the vast emporium Bermudez y Cia., which ranged from alcoholic beverages to tanneries.
