Santo Domingo.-Attorney General Francisco Domínguez Brito said yesterday that the Dominicanauthorities are continuing to cooperate with the United States in the case involving drugtrafficker José David Figueroa Agosto who lived in the Dominican Republic for many years and was eventually caught extradited to the U.S.
“In the Figueroa Agosto casewe have always been open to cooperating with U.S. entities, especially the federaljustice system where it is being heard. We, in keeping with internationalagreements, are providing support and cooperating in this process. We are hoping itwill develop and we will continue cooperating,” he said.
The DominicanRepublic’s cooperation consists of extradition “as has already taken place,” insending and interviewing people including prisoners. It also includes supportfor all the inquiry commissions that may be set up or any requests, as they have been doing throughout the process, according to the Attorney General.
