Santo Domingo.- A ‘hurricane hunter’ plane sent in T.S. Gabrielle found it had considerably weakened in the last few hours, with decreased a intensity that reverted it back to a tropical depression.

The National Meteorology Office (Onamet) said Gabrielle’s condition degraded its tropical storm alerts from Cabo Engaño in the east to Cabo Frances Viejo in the north, and discontinued tropical storm watches from Cabo Engaño to Santo Domingo.

At 10am Thursday Tropical Depression Gabrielle is located 115 kilometers west-southwest of Ponce, Puerto Rico and 120 kilometers southeast of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
