Teen’s kidnapping adds confusion to ‘boy-hunt’ (Update)

Santo Domingo.- A younger brother of the fugitives Omar and Cesar A. López Méndez, being sought in connection with several crimes, was kidnapped by unidentified assailants on Sunday.

The kidnapping adds yet another element of confusion into the strange origin of the two suspects targeted in a nationwide manhunt.

María Méndez, mother of the Lopez brothers, filed a complaint with the Espaillat province Office of the Prosecutor, in Moca.

The 17-year-old was taken from a residence around 11am by armed men in an SUV, at the entrance to Los Maringuises in the community of Monte de la Jagua, where relatives and neighbors said they couldn’t see their faces because the kidnappers were wearing hoodies.
