Former president Mejia says he’ll run again

Santo Domingo.- As expected former president Hipolito Mejia on Thursday announced he’ll seek the presidential nomination for 2016 on the ballots of the recently created PRM, and the minotiry opposition Convergence parties.

In a statement, the former president (2000-2004) said he’ll speak to the country on January 8 to explain the reasons why he decided to run for office again in 2016.

He also announced on start touring the entire country on January 3, to head campaign rallies at the country’s southern provinces of Azua, Barahona and San Juan.
